A Miraculous Baby Dedication

So I have to tell you this story...

A beautiful little boy was born last July. This past February after going in circles with his pediatrician about why he was running fevers and showing other sign of sickness, he was admitted to the hospital and diagnosed with RSV. He was sent home to recover on his own. His diligent and concerned mother demanded that he be admitted to the hospital because she knew something else was wrong with her child. He was admitted into ICU with double pneumonia and staph, which are all complications of RSV if it gets bad. The baby was in the hospital for about 2 1/2 months and even returned a couple times after that to get minor things handled.

His mom never stopped praying, never stopped believing, and never left her baby's side, caring for him night and day, even when he could not respond. It is truly a moving and touching story of God's grace and protection...even when we don't know what to do, He leads us to where we need to be, when we need to be there.

So you know I was overjoyed to do the favors for his dedication dinner. I attended the service and it was an awesome moment to hear his babbling and laughing as the preacher dedicated him to God. There is so much in store for that child and you know we'll do it big for his first bday party in July! Thank God!!!

Gourmet Diaper Cakes!

Maybe I was inspired by the king to make this interpretation of purple and gold (or something like that). Mommies are no longer locked into the pink/brown or blue/brown themes for baby showers. Now moms are stepping out and exploring any versions of any colors they choose for their baby showers. I know I have at least three more that should be finished within the next day or so. I almost waited so that I could post all of them together but we'll go ahead and leak this one...

Bailey's 1st Bday Safari

Babygirl Bailey turned 1!!! She had a safari-themed party at the zoo and like all little girls, she had to be the star of the show, the queen of the jungle. We created a special bday adornment for Babygirl Bailey, personalized with a golden "B".

Baby Boy's First Bike

I was approached about wrapping a bike for a little boy's birthday party. It was his first bike so the family really wanted it to be special. Well, of course, we could not wrap the bike, but we could definitely add that extra! LOL (anyone who knows me knows that I always say "that extra") He was very surprised and happy to get his bike and the family was pleased with my creation.

Birthday Cake Gift

A good friend of mine wanted a cake for his birthday, so that's what he got...a delicious strawberry cake by Tayari. It was fabulous! I really should have taken a picture of the cake. Since it was his birthday gift, we decided to wrap it like a real present. So, here ya go!

Pre-School Rocks

This project is a few years old but I stopped by the preschool and they were still there! I did some centerpieces for a pre-school lunch room. They wanted to brighten up the place where the little ones eat, so they painted the walls a wonderfully bright green and Lizzie Bella added some kiddie fabulosity.

Birthday Party...Rio style!

By now, especially if you have children, you're familiar with the movie, "Rio". Well, a special little 8 year old had a "Rio" themed bday party. I did her gift bags with pretty bows with the colors I saw from the movie. The best part was that on the back of her bag, she had a special adornment, hand-crafted by Lizzie Bella that she could wear on her special day. It's keepsake for her. You should have seen the way she lit up when I brought it to her...priceless! I love making people smile. She got so many compliments on her special bday pin. Yay Lizzie Bella!

Baby Girl on the way!

It's been a little over a year now, but I did two fabulous baby showers for my sis. The first one was a mid-day brunch, complete with fresh flowers, music, hilarious games (not your typical shower games), delicious food, and the perfect little party favors. The second shower was planned by some of our sorors, but I added my little touch with the favors and ribbon/close pin clips for one of the games. The custom-designed bag was filled with "All Things Pink" to include a pink nail care set and something else...can't remember. Oops! And, I know it's hard to see but the ribbon was pink and brown, with white polka dots. All of the clips were pink! Can you tell that we love pink around my house??? Of course, the undisputed Queen of Cakes, Tayari created two fabulous cakes for both events! Lizzie Bella is obviously an event planner too...sometimes! :)

Graduation Fever

Originally, I had actually hired a GA to design my grad announcement for me. I was really busy at the beginning of the month and not to mention, trying to graduate. Well, that guy kinda flopped on me so I had to do it myself...Lizzie Bella to the rescue! Here's a pic of the front cover of the tri-fold invitation. It had a couple more pics inside, the graduation info and a letter to my friends and family. The amazing thing is that I've gotten soooo much business from the announcement...and that's a good thing! I guess God had His own funny way to get me to add announcement/invitation design to Lizzie Bella's emporium. I've done a few invitations in the past, and hopefully, through all the clutter, I'll find some more samples to take pics of for ya!

Playing catch up...

I'm just now getting a second to repost the pics I had posted before my last blog site was destroyed! LOL The first pic is from Mother's Day 2011. I failed to take pics of all the gifts I did but I did manage to capture one of them. The other two are pics from an 87th Bday Celebration for my Big Mama in Stark-Vegas! If you know anything about my grandma or Stark-Vegas, you'll understand our "Southern Goodness" theme. Our guests enjoyed a catered menu of baked chicken, turkey, green beans, mac -n- cheese, and more...to top it all off, we had TEA CAKES!!! And they were mighty good! For decorations and favors, I did homemade jelly for each guest in a glass jar (just like Big Mama used to make it) with pink and green ribbon and a personalized tag to thank our gracious guests. The party was simply lovely!

What the heck just happened?!

So I'm not sure why my blog was destroyed but we're back on target. When I checked my account, the site showed something about them having technical problems and getting rid of all the blogs that had been created after a certain date. They assured that the problem would be fixed but I guess not. So, I just recreated the blog. In other news...I just met with the realtor to see the hopefully future home of Lizzie Bella. If it doesn't work out, I have another plan in an equally fabulous location. For now, I'll still accept online inquiries about gift wrapping and such. Later on today, I'll repost the original pics. Toodles!
